I have been teaching at BWES since 2001. I am currently teaching 3rd grade and love exploring the world with my students. I grew up in Schenectady, New York. I went to Syracuse University and studied Fine Arts earning a BFA with a concentration on painting. I met my husband there and we moved to Virginia soon after we were married. Jamil is a research engineer in the area. We have three wonderful daughters. I earned a MAT degree from Mary Baldwin College. I've taught a range of grades from Kindergarden to fourth grade.
I have a wide variety of interests ranging from drawing and painting to cooking and gardening. My husband and I have chickens (we hatched some in our class each year) and a very large grey cat named Henry that we are keeping for our daughter.
It was an amazing trip!
